It was a great day for Joe and I yesterday! Our youngest grandson, Austin is starting his college days at KU and our oldest grandson, Tyler is beginning his full-time job career after graduating from KU in Lawrence. So we arranged to take them both to First Watch for a brunch at 11:00 a.m. We first picked up Austin and proceeded on to Tyler's house and picked up Tyler and also one of his friends, Dan. We had a great lunch and lively conversation, then took Ty and Dan home and returned Austin to his dorm and were invited in for a "showing" of his home away from home for the next year. We've encountered lots of dorm rooms in the past but this one gets the Blue Ribbon. Austin and Stephen (his room-mate) out did themselves in making it a comfortable and homey place to spend the school year. Everything had its place and was neat as a pin!!! As Austin pointed out, the view out the east window is awesome! You can see KU campus everywhere you look.
It was a wonderful day for two proud grandparents!!
Our next trip will be across town to take Cody, our middle grandson, to a Pizza lunch before he starts his fourth year right here in town at Washburn University. More about that excursion as it unfolds - get ready Cody!!
