If anyone's interested...

On Saturday, February 24, Brittany (with her friend Jasmine) will have a project entered in the district competition for National History Day.

Their project has to do with Martin Luther King, Jr.

The competition is at Washburn University in Washburn Room A. (Have NO idea where that is. I'm hoping there are signs posted on Saturday).

Set-up and judging is, I believe, from 7:45 until sometime after noon. (This is "private" and only the judges and students can be there for that). They are then supposed to open the room so that the parents, teachers, etc. can view the projects from about 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Finally, they are supposed to announce the winners at 3:30 p.m.

Brittany doesn't look for her project to win an award. She thinks that, since this is her first year, it's just about having done it, "learning the ropes" and seeing what's possible in school years to come. (Having said that, she IS excited and - I believe - "secretly" hoping to get at least an honorable mention of some kind).
